Satanic Muse

For a while now I have been looking for a way to bring together pictures I have stored on my laptop and have book-marked around the web. I was thinking of starting a new blog here for images only but it soon became clear that the kind of things I like would break the rules.  I thought Pinterest might be a likely place to go but (as regular readers will know) I found them even more conservative. As a result I have started a blog at Tumbir which turns out to be far more permissive.

I think music and art are very much a window on the soul and a good way to get to know another side of people. Certainly while starting to compile some images for the new blog I have learned things about myself that I wasn’t consciously aware of before. Well, I knew I was a bit kinky but I was surprised by the degree of sensuality in all the images I like; even the landscapes. I was also a bit surprised at the proportion of women to men in the erotic art and pornography I like. I am not sure if it is just because my tastes have been slightly skewed by the fact that I am in a relationship with a woman, or if women’s bodies are just inherently more artistically pleasing… Either way there are more women than men there.

As you will have gathered my taste in art is dominated by the erotic. Well it certainly seems so from what I have included so far, but that is not quite the full story. I love all kinds of art from classical to modern including landscapes, portraits and abstract art. The reason that my blog is dominated by naughtier things is that the classic paintings and sculptures by people such as Monet, Degas, Van Gough and DaVinci are so easily accessible that I don’t feel the need to collect them together in one place. (There are, or will be, references to all of them though).

I wasn’t sure what to call my blog. I knew the word “Muse” would be in there because I like all the meanings and connotations of the word. I hesitated about using the word “Satanic” because I know it carries many negative connotation for a lot of people. But I am a Satanist and to me the word has very positive (if sometimes rather dark and provocative) meaning. So Satanic Muse it is.

So if you want a glimpse into my soul that words alone cannot convey check it out. It is still a work in progress at the moment though. It is for adults only and I think the description above gives an indication of what you will find; so don’t go there if such things are not to your taste.

I have tried to avoid text as much as possible there. The written thoughts of Cassie Being Cassie will continue here as normal. 😉

  1. I’m really pleased you’ve found a place where you can express yourself with art however you please. Your collection is very nice; you have good taste. Tumblr is definitely the place to go if you want to have collections of pictures of an adult nature. I have a few Tumblr blogs – two very “innocent”, ones, and a secret (password protected) one of just lovely ladies. I too find the female form, both faces and bodies, very beautiful to look at, and as you know, I’m not even lesbian or bi. Women are just beautiful. I like to have my little private collection. Have fun in Tumblr! (I find it can be quite addictive.) Btw, you can add music to Tumblr blogs as well. I haven’t done it, but other people have. It’s probably easy enough to do if you feel like it.

  2. Yes Cassie. The sensuality of nature in classical, romantic and pre-Raphaelite paintings, and the erotic photography of the female (and male) form are not something bad (except in the eyes of religions that hate nature and sex), but all about life and loving Life and even its companion Death in Gothic images. Yes Tumblr seems to have no limits. As it gets larger put an Archive button for followers to view more on each page. Now you are really tempting me to post a link to that Tumblr page i shared with you that i liked so much because of its Art.
